Aashapath Helps Illiterate Women Through the Dr. Maya AI App

1. 🗣️ Voice-to-Voice Interaction (No Reading Required)

  • Women can speak their symptoms in their own language or dialect (e.g., Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, etc.).
  • Dr. Maya GPT will respond in spoken language with clear and simple advice.
  • No need to read or type—this empowers even completely non-literate users.

2. 🌍 Multilingual AI Support

  • Dr. Maya GPT understands and speaks multiple Indian languages fluently.
  • Each user hears advice in the language they are most comfortable with—making it truly inclusive.

3. 🎨 Color-Coded Symptom System

Users describe three symptoms verbally.

Dr. Maya GPT analyzes the symptoms and provides advice using a color code:

  • 🔴 Red – Go to hospital or see a doctor immediately.
  • 🔵 Blue – Possible infection, isolate and talk to a nurse or doctor.
  • 🟡 Yellow – Mild illness; safe to self-care or speak to a pharmacist.
  • 🟢 Green – Safe; monitor symptoms or get nurse advice.

The color is shown on screen along with spoken explanation, making it easy to understand without literacy.

4. 👩‍🏫 Aashapath AI Training Program

  • In collaboration with local councils (like Karnataka State Unorganised Workers & Women Rights Council), women receive basic AI training to:

  • Learn to ask questions using voice.
  • Understand Dr. Maya’s voice responses.
  • Use the color guidance to take safe action for themselves and their families.

5. 📱 Pre-Installed & Sponsored Access

App can be pre-installed on community phones, kiosks, or tablets.

Dr. Srivatsa is sponsoring API access, so these women don’t have to pay to use Dr. Maya GPT.

❤️ Why It Matters

This system gives power back to women who have been excluded from healthcare because of illiteracy, distance, fear, or poverty. With just their voice, they can now:

  • Understand what is happening in their body.
  • Take the right action quickly.
  • Protect their children and family members.

Would you like a poster or audio guide in Kannada, Hindi, or any specific language to share this with local women's groups?
